Your daily role:


As the Agricultural Projects Specialist, you will assist in various projects related to agronomy, agricultural compliance, basic IT systems improvement and support, and achieving company ESG goals in collaboration with various business partners and department leaders.

The Agricultural Projects Specialist is influential, goal-oriented, organized, and self starting.


THE ROLE:


  • Support various agronomy projects, lead by the Agriculture Technical Programs Specialist, in the field and reporting findings;
  • Ensure agricultural compliance with local, federal, and international laws and regulations with regards to food trade, in collaboration with the Corporate Regulatory Compliance Manager and other applicable business partners;
  • Ensure all required crop production records are complete and accurate through routine internal audits;
  • Lead activities related to company ESG strategies and reporting, regulatory compliance with pesticides and other crop production practices, certification requirements of the future, and fulfilling external audit requirements;
  • Develop, implement, and support various agricultural strategies and programs related to the company's ESG policies, in collaboration with various business partners;
  • Define, prioritize, and communicate IT system developments required in order to support continuous improvement in agricultural operations and crop management, in collaboration various business partners;
  • Onboard, support, and train staff and contract growers on our agricultural IT system(s).

Your profile

Minimum 3 years of experience in the agriculture and/or food industries or related fields;:

Post-secondary education in agricultural or environmental sciences, or related field;:

Knowledgeable and experienced in agronomy;:

Demonstrated ability to build, animate, and engage teams and focus groups;:

Strong understanding of agricultural production systems and related regulatory policy;:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;:

-
Capable of building and animating productive teams in a positive and influential manner;:

-
Solid understanding of Google Workspace functionalities;:

-
Demonstrate a high level of comfort with various IT systems and their basic functionality;:

-
Able and willing to travel regionally, nationally, and internationally as needed;:

Fluency in French is a strong asset, however not mandatory
