Site Superintendent, Full Time

MacKinnon & Olding has an immediate need for a Site Superintendent to join its team in Nova Scotia or
Quebec. The Site Superintendent reports to the Group Vice President on all matters pertaining to the provision of services for the preparation and coating of marine and industrial surfaces at designated Work
Sites.

The incumbent shall provide supervision and guidance to the Forepersons and Production Crew to ensure that projects are completed on time and within specified requirements for product quality, schedule and cost.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
What you will do

• Provide work instructions to the Forepersons for work being performed at the work site.
• Collaborate with other M&O Superintendents on service delivery for all other disciplines i.e. flooring, scaffolding and insulation.
• Attend planning and production meetings with clients and stakeholders and provide updates on the production planning and schedule.
• Prepare work instruction for production work to be performed at the blast shop and/or paint shop.
• Ensure materials required for performance of work has been requisitioned and ordered.
• Ensure that work is completed and has met requirements prior closure of the work order for the contract.
• Ensure that equipment required for performance of work for preparation and coating of marine and industrial surfaces is maintained in good working order and that equipment requiring repair and maintenance is brought to the attention of the Maintenance manager.
• Hold Toolbox Meetings with the Forepersons and Crew to review HSE requirements at the jobsite and work with the HSE Advisor to resolve any HSE issues on the jobsite.
• Ensure that all necessary HSEQ and QC requirements are fully understood and meet the clients work instructions and specifications.
• Ensure time and attendance tracking is documented as required.
• Report nonconformances as required.
• Work with the Project Manager for accurate and timely reporting on project activities, identifying and mitigating risks, identifying and initiating action items and review project status reports weekly.
• Attend M&O production meetings to give an update on work progress.
• Complete and distribute the "plan of the day" to all internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with developing and providing quotes to the customer as required.
• Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Your background

• 7+ years experience in the preparation and coating of marine and industrial surfaces and several years supervisory and work experience in a related filed.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 based quality management systems and Companies HSEQ Systems,
• NACE certified (As Applicable)
• Supervisory training in relation to industrial/construction HSE requirements.
