About the Opportunity:

The South Shore Regional Hospital (SSRH), in Bridgewater, is seeking full-time and locum physicians for our Hospitalist program. Our program currently consists of four Hospitalist lines covering 15-18 patients of mixed acuity.

This position is 7 days on, and 7 days off, with 8:00 am to 5:00 pm shifts, and call required 2 to 3 nights per week of work.

Our site is close knit, provides ample support and a rewarding work experience.


Responsibilities:

- be accountable for appropriate workload and practice
- provide care and coordination of community-based care, and secondary and tertiary level heath care
- operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority
- participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities


Expected Hours:

Remuneration is $1400 per day (8 hours) for the full-line.

Call is an extra $400 per night on a weekend or $300 per night on a weekday, plus fee-for-service billings for anyone seen after 5pm and before 8am.


Qualifications:

- all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA), or proof of alternative coverage

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
