Contract:
March - June '23 contract, possibility of extension to Sept. '2- June '24

About the Religious Exploration (RE) Program:

  • Sunday RE programming on Sunday mornings, in-person, on site at 206 Concession St., Kingston.
  • Occasional Intergenerational Sunday services with the help of the RE Committee and Sunday Services Committee.
  • A Time for All Ages as part of the Sunday service once a month. This may be a story or other presentation by the REC, an RE teaching assistant or a volunteer coordinated by the REC. Special events, such as Social Justice initiatives.

Position Overview


The REC will collaborate with the Religious Exploration Committee and the Minister in the development and administration of the children's curriculum.

The REC will work with the Religious Exploration Teaching Assistants and volunteers from the congrega
- tion, using interactive discussions, games, stories, songs and crafts focused on the curriculum's themes.

The REC will schedule and monitor RE employees and volunteers in co-ordination with the Minister and the RE Committee.


The REC will:
- connect with parents / guardians in-person and through social media.
- connect with the RE Committee at monthly meetings

  • The REC will maintain budget and administrative records and maintain RE resources and supplies with the assistance of the RE committee.

Accessibility:


  • Our open concept RE space is on the 1st floor of and is wheelchair accessible.
  • There is an elevator to access our 2nd floor Main Hall and the basement floor.

Qualifications:


Requirements:


  • Any and all applicable church policies and the Kingston Police Information Check (K-PIC) for working with children (fee paid by KUF).
  • Canadian citizenship or a valid Canadian Work Visa.

Qualifications:


  • An understanding or interest in Unitarian Universalist RE and a willingness to learn UU values and principles.
  • Welcoming and respectful to all people regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, economic status, or ethnicity. Uses an antiracist, antioppression, and multicultural lens.
  • Program coordination and leadership experience and/or early years/youth education background.
