_Summer Learning Programs 2023_
_$23.45 per hour_
Under the direction of the Program Principal, the Educational Assistant is an integral member of the school team and is responsible for the provision of support to students with exceptional needs within the school.
Responsibilities are varied, in collaboration with teaching and other professional staff, and include:
supporting students with their learning. Educational Assistants may be required to modify programs and support learning for students with learning disabilities, and speech/language issues. Other related duties may be assigned by the classroom teacher and/or Site Administrator. Assignments may also include outside yard duties.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION:Secondary School Graduation Diploma along with training and experience with children with special needs. The ability to work as a team member under the direction of a teacher and a high degree of patience and understanding are required. Knowledge and understanding of specific social/emotional and physical needs of students with learning disabilities, behavioural challenges, developmental disabilities or physical challenges as well as Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, First Aid and CPR will be considered an asset.
Elementary Summer Program:
Grades 6, 7 & 8 Summer program website**This program is for students who have completed grade 6, 7 or 8.
The goal of this program is to review and reinforce language arts, math, language and English language communication skills (MLL and ELD program).

Start date:Staff Orientation July 4th - 3 hours
Rate of Pay:
$23.45 per hour + 4% in lieu of vacation
Locations:
Broadview Public School, Jack Donohue Public School, Steve MacLean Public School, Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School, and Virtual School
Hours of work:8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday

Hours of work may be adjusted at the discretion of the Site Principal
