Scope of the Position
Position:
Process Operator
Shift:
Monday to Friday - 40 hours - Overtime and potential shift work.
Hourly rate:
$32.96/hour during probation
Key Responsibilities
- Perform chemical manufacturing operations in safe and effective manner.
- Recording information, such as ingredients, weights, and temperature, and inputting into database.
- Monitor and control pressure and temperature of chemical process equipment.
- Operate plant equipment as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Handle, transport and process chemicals safely.
- Document plant processes and record production data.
- Operation of tank truck and railcar vessel opening, loading and unloading of product, operation of pumps, piping and valves.
- Troubleshooting issues with production equipment and processes.
- Plant inventory record keeping.
- Operation of the following mobile equipment: Backhoe, Trackmobile, Forklifts, and other mobile equipment.
- Daily plant upkeep and daily maintenance. Ability to perform daily housekeeping duties.
Working Environment
- Chemical manufacturing plant producing Liquid Alum, ACH and PAC chemicals
- Physical capability of performing tasks in 100 degree ambient temperatures while wearing Protective Personal Protection.
- This job requires climbing stairs and ladders and also lifting (within OSHA guidelines).
- This job consists of outside elements where radiant heat or cold is normal work environment, and rotating shifts.
- Following all plant safety guidelines such as: Confined Space, Working with heights Management of Change, Hot Work and Operating Procedures
- Must be able to work scheduled 8hour days with intermittent hour days for emergency operations/repairs.
What You Need To Be Successful
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate is a must
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in chemical manufacturing or manufacturing/production.
- Experience working with forklifts preferred.
- Aptitude for mechanics.
- Willingness to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing protective gear when necessary.
- Ability to lift 50lbs or more.
