Job description
For this position, we are seeking an experienced and talented designer with recent and relative experience. This position is unique as there is substantial coordination involved with general contractors, consultants and trades. This position holds the opportunity for advancement and personal development for the successful applicant, in a fast growing and exciting company on the leading edge of offsite construction in Canada.
As a key member of our team, you will play an integral role in ensuring the successful design and implementation of wall systems for multifamily and residential projects. Your responsibilities will involve collaborating with various departments, interpreting construction plans, and producing detailed design layouts. We are looking for an individual who is both technically proficient and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Company Overview
Founded in 1994 and incorporated in 1998, RAS Ltd. began as a residential framing company and has grown to specialize in multi-family and residential wood-frame construction on Vancouver Island.
We leverage modern technology and prefabrication techniques, particularly in the design and fabrication of wall & EWP floor panels. Our panels are designed and fabricated in-house using advanced software and precision equipment, enabling faster installation, greater accuracy, and reduced job site waste.

Responsibilities
- Read, interpret, and understand construction plans, particularly for multi-family and residential projects.
Design prefabricated wall systems, extracting information from architectural & engineered plans and submittals
Produce wall layouts & production drawings using Mitek's Supply software
- Coordinate designs and schedules with internal departments and the fabrication shop.
- Communicate effectively with engineers, architects, and contractors.
- Work independently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attend company meetings to discuss progress of current active projects
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with wall design software (e.g., Javelin, Istruct).
- Previous MiTek experience is a MUST
- Experience in residential or multi-family wood construction projects.
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong technical and computer skills are a significant asset.
- Technical diploma in Engineering or Architectural Technology is considered an asset.
- Field experience in wood framing or mid-rise construction is considered an asset.

Salary is from $75,000.00/yr
Candidates based in Western Canada are preferred.

8-hour day shift (Monday–Friday)
