The Position is an integral member of the project team responsible for directing, organizing, and controlling project activities, under the direction of the Projects Manager.

A&H Steel Ltd.

is a reinforcing steel (rebar) company with 50 years of experience serving the Northern Alberta and BC area's construction projects.

We provide and place steel for commercial and industrial projects of all sizes.

The position is responsible for coordinating the detailing, fabrication, and placing of rebar components at various construction sites.


A qualified applicant will have the following experience:

  • Navigating workflow between multiple departments to ensure timelines are met.
  • Managing competing priorities and expectations between job site superintendents and multiple production teams.
  • Technical experience with structural design and engineering.
  • Working in the reinforcing industry in the field, detailing, projects, or estimating departments.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:


  • Attend project meetings and assist with determining project requirements
  • Produce consolidated reporting for the Projects manager
  • Use scheduling tools to monitor a project's target delivery dates
  • Be the liaison between outside detailers and contractors answer questions, log drawings and changes, distribute information
  • Create, track and manage all change notices from contractors and outside detailers
  • Complete small takeoffs/estimates for Proposed Change Notices for pricing
  • Coordinate delivery dates with shipping and contractor
  • Keep the Projects manager informed about project status and issues that may impact contractor relations

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:


  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Efficient organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to collaborate, prioritize, and problem solve
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong team player

Education and training:


  • Diploma or foundation degree from a recognized postsecondary institution in the fields of either Architectural Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, Project Management, or similar
  • Courses that include work placements are advantageous

Schedule:
