Mid-Senior Full-Stack Wordpress Developer

Our small but energetic start-up e-commerce client located in Vancouver, Canada is looking for solid and reliable Full-Stack WordPress Developer to single-handedly manage the ongoing maintenance, support, and development of their WordPress-based ecommerce platform.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the website, implementing new features and enhancements, and optimizing the infrastructure for performance and scalability.

It's a long-term contract opportunity without the end-date.

The engagement is fully remote, successful candidates can be located anywhere in Latin America, as long as you are available for a significant overlap with the PST time zone .

You'll need to have good English communication skills (at least B2 or higher) for this role.

Please note that there is a potential opportunity for the interested candidate to be sponsored by the company to eventually move to Canada .

This is a great opportunity for the experienced developer interested in working in a small team, being solely responsible for the technical side of the product, making key decisions, and advising business owners on technical direction and innovation strategies.

You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the company's future, leveraging your expertise to drive growth.

What you'll get to do:
Provide day-to-day support for client' ecommerce website, addressing technical issues, troubleshooting errors, and ensuring uptime and performance.
Collaborate with business owners to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions and enhancements.
Manage the development pipeline, prioritizing tasks, and coordinating with external development resources as needed.
Implement new features, functionalities, and integrations to enhance the user experience and drive business growth.
Conduct regular maintenance and updates to ensure the security, stability, and scalability of the website and underlying infrastructure.
Optimize website performance, speed, and SEO to improve user experience and maximize conversion rates.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and technologies related to ecommerce and web development.

Requirements:
~5+ years of work experience in Full-Stack Software Development
~ Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. A master's degree is a plus.
~ Proven experience working with WordPress, WooCommerce, Dokan, and Auction plugins.
~ Proven experience working with WP Core and building plugins.
~ Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant web technologies.
~ Experience with AWS or other cloud hosting platforms is highly desirable.
~ Solid understanding of ecommerce principles, including payment gateways, shipping methods, and product management.
~ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Of Note:
You will be required to provide you own laptop, basic software tools, and cell phone.
