Description
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) responsibilities include: giving out meal trays to patient; preparing patients to receive nutrition (i.e. position patient for meals, feed patient, cutting up patient's food to aid digestion); assisting patient with dressing and grooming; notifying RPN if patient's condition changes; porter duties and light housekeeping; assisting with patient laundry; folding and re-stocking linen carts; counting and tracking supply inventory; cleaning and storing shared equipment; one on one or group activities with patients; complying with and commitment to patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Giving out meal trays to patient;
  • Preparing patients to receive nutrition (i.e. position patient for meals, feed patient, cutting up patient's food to aid digestion);
- assisting patient with dressing and grooming;

  • Notifying RPN if patient's condition changes;
  • Porter duties and light housekeeping; assisting with patient laundry;
  • Folding and restocking linen carts; counting and tracking supply inventory;
  • Cleaning and storing shared equipment;
  • Complying with and commitment to patient safety responsibilities, policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients
  • Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures
  • Complies with all Canadian provincial and federal privacy legislation
  • All other duties as required
Job Qualification

At least one year experience in a similar position or experience where similar duties were completed. Related education/certificates, driver's license and vehicle an asset.
