The Pediatric Home Care Program is an inter-professional team of healthcare professionals aimed at providing excellence in Pediatric care to children and families in the community setting.

Reporting to the Care Manager for Pediatric Home Care, the position will be responsible for performing assigned duties as a member of a multidisciplinary Home Care team.

The person in this position will provide overnight care and/or respite within the client's home for children who have complex airway needs.

You will provide personal care by supporting activities of daily living, assist in patient assessments, and interventions, and provide comfort measures to patients and their families.

You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers as well as all members of the healthcare team. A valid driver's license and vehicle are required as there is travel to and from the client's home. This position is primarily for the High River area.


Description:


As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support.

You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities.

You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:


Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year within the past 3 years of HCA experience required. Health Care Aide Certification is required. Current BLS - Provider C certificate required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Previous acute care HCA experience. Previous acute care or community pediatric experience. Previous experience with Integrated Home Care. Ability to work independently.
