Bookkeeper

West Creek Farms is seeking a Bookkeeper for a full-time position.


West Creek Farms is a custom soil blender servicing greenhouse, nurseries and the landscape industry in the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and Washington State.

We are looking for a friendly, motivated individual with a desire to learn who can work independently as well as enjoy working with our diverse team.

The job requires an organized and detailed individual who can work in a fast-paced environment.


Duties include:

  • Provides full cycle bookkeeping
  • Processes accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Reconciles bank and credit card statements
  • Processes biweekly payroll and associated remittances
  • Prepares all government filings including GST/HST returns
  • Prepares WCB Returns / filings
  • Retains historical records through the accurate filing of documents
  • Provides office administration support by covering the Customer Service role as required
  • Administers benefits plan
  • Organizes data and monitor progress of assigned projects and company priorities

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma plus Certification in Bookkeeping/ accounting
  • At least 2 years' experience in full cycle bookkeeping
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Enterprise Accounting software
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner
  • Excellent English
- both written and verbal

  • Proven flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments

General hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 to 4:00

Own transportation is required as we are not on a bus route.
