Position:
ENG Editor, CTV Vancouver, Bell Media


Location:
Vancouver, BC


Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Will include shift work, evenings and weekends

Role:


CTV Vancouver is seeking a regular, full-time ENG Editor to join our dynamic team located in the heart of downtown Vancouver.

The successful applicant will be responsible for editing video and audio footage on a non-linear system for news and breaking news stories in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Edit news and sports stories for daily newscasts using the highest professional journalistic standards
  • Ensure completion of the products in a timely fashion
  • Verify the quality of the product before going to air
  • Accountable for raising issues of concern for legal or other matters
  • Other duties as assigned

Critical Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary diploma in art and media technology, television production or other related fields
  • 34 years of relevant experience in a news environment
  • Knowledge of nonlinear editing systems
  • Proven news judgment and creativity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of technical broadcast equipment
  • Ability to work under time pressures and handle stress

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Detailoriented
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as with assigned reporters in a respectful and collaborative manner
