Position:
ENG Editor, CTV Vancouver, Bell Media

Location:
Vancouver, BC

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Will include shift work, evenings and weekends

Job Status:
Regular - Full Time

Role:

CTV Vancouver is seeking a regular, full-time ENG Editor to join our dynamic team located in the heart of downtown Vancouver.

The successful applicant will be responsible for editing video and audio footage on a non-linear system for news and breaking news stories in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Edit news and sports stories for daily newscasts using the highest professional journalistic standards
Ensure completion of the products in a timely fashion
Verify the quality of the product before going to air
Accountable for raising issues of concern for legal or other matters
Other duties as assigned

Critical Qualifications:

Postsecondary diploma in art and media technology, television production or other related fields
34 years of relevant experience in a news environment
Knowledge of nonlinear editing systems
Proven news judgment and creativity
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong understanding of technical broadcast equipment
Ability to work under time pressures and handle stress

Preferred Qualifications:

Detailoriented
Must be able to work independently, as well as with assigned reporters in a respectful and collaborative manner
