With operations based in Drayton Valley, AB and a secondary location near Sylvan Lake, AB, we are seeking an experienced Pipefitter – Crew Foreman to lead field construction teams and ensure safe, high-quality project execution.

Role Summary

The Pipefitter – Crew Foreman provides frontline leadership to field crews, overseeing the layout, installation, fabrication, and maintenance of piping systems in oil & gas construction settings. The Foreman ensures work is complete and accurate to drawings, specifications, codes, company procedures, and OHS regulations.

Pipefitter Foremen coordinate crews, or can work independently, plan layouts, ensure code compliance, conduct inspections, manage materials, and resolve site issues. They report to the supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in pipefitting, facility construction, or pipeline work.
  • Oilfield safety certifications:
  • H2S Alive
  • First Aid
  • Ground Disturbance Level 2
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO/CSTS)
  • Strong ability to interpret drawings, layouts, maps, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of flow dynamics, pressure ratings, and system components.
  • Competence operating picker trucks, rigging equipment, and completing lifts safely.

  • Perform mechanical jointing, threading, and fabrication work.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to remote sites.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision & Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise crew members on all pipefitting tasks.

  • Coordinate daily work activities, ensuring quality, productivity, and safety.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, inspectors, and other trades.
  • Conduct on-site problem-solving and resolve conflicts or technical issues.

Technical Execution

  • Install and maintain piping systems, including tie-ins for new and existing infrastructure.
  • Interpret P&IDs, spool drawings, blueprints, isometrics, and specifications.
  • Measure, cut, thread, weld, braze, solder, and bend pipe using hand and power tools.
  • Perform mechanical jointing, threading, and fabrication work.
  • Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic testing and verify system integrity.
  • Install supports, valves, control systems, and structural components.
  • Execute pipeline pigging, flushing, cleaning, and system reactivation tasks.
  • Ensure all work meets ASME, API, CSA, ABSA, and site-specific code requirements.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce company, client, and OHS safety procedures.

  • Conduct site hazard assessments and verify safe use of tools, rigging, and lifting equipment.

  • Maintain housekeeping and ensure safe, organized work areas.

Equipment & Materials

  • Select and prepare pipe materials, fittings, and supports based on system requirements.

  • Operate picker truck equipment and perform safe lifts as required.

  • Manage inventory, order materials, and coordinate deliveries as needed.
