Position Overview


The Solution Specialist 1 is a key partner of the Account Executive/Sales Representative and is responsible for driving the technical solution strategy and delivering additional revenue from product and services.

You will support multiple customer accounts to drive opportunities and new relationships across the business.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to position and sell product and services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values.
  • Technical specialist leading opportunities and deals including bringing in and facilitating the right Subject Matter Experts
  • Review customer requirements and identifies key solution elements with the relevant Subject Matter Experts
  • Proposal development and collaborate with the Pre-Sales Teams to develop competitive final proposals.
  • Attend customer opportunity / strategy meetings to understand, present and articulate business and technical product and services strategy for the company and customer.
  • Provide qualification of designs or opportunities and produce technical architecture/design documentation.
  • Ensure that proposed solutions are valid and meet Customer specifications.
  • Work closely with Sales Teams / Vendors / Partners to keep uptodate with current and future product and services technologies and strategies to manage the 'cradle to grave' service/solution cycle.
  • Drive adherence to business rules, including obtaining Deal Review Process (DRP) approval when required.
  • Lead the review of solution and pricing during the deal reviews as appropriate.
  • Promotes Computacenter's products and services offerings.
  • Focus on increasing product and services revenue and profitability
  • Engage in and manage Customer demonstrations and Proofs of Concept.
  • Play a pivotal role in ensuring end to end delivery to client.
  • Maintain high level of industry awareness through training and selfdevelopment.

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS) (preferred) or related field or equivalent in work experience.
  • 2+ years as services and solutioning professional.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to engage, and interact effectively, with people from many different disciplines.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Experience with IT and services delivery methodologies.
  • Understanding and knowledge of IT Trends and Business needs.
  • Ability to develop and maintain client engagements/relationships.
  • Develop and deliver services solutions architecture presentations.

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to understand client requirements and engage with crossfunctional teams for services solutions development
  • Understand industry and competitive trends
  • Demonstrable ability to provide input into commercial/technical documents and to develop services solution specific business cases
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present at large internal and external audiences and at board level.
  • Indepth understanding of service lifecycle.
  • Ability to lead and organize a large virtual team
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Strong proposal writing ability
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities
  • Ability to determine appropriate solution approach and pricing strategies for opportunities
