SCOPE OF THE JOB


As the Lead Technician, your expertise will be relied upon to act as the workshop technical lead, with overall responsibility for workshop organization, quality, and efficiency.

You will be responsible for a team whose duties include performing a wide range of automotive service and mechanical repairs.

The salary range for this position is $130,000-$142,000.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Diagnose and repair a wide range of automotive service and mechanical repairs
  • Oversee and lead Technicians to achieve various KPIs such as Fixed Right First Time
  • Handle and help resolve escalations of complicated technical cases, and act as the main point of contact with VinFast technical staff
  • Monitor and report on workshop performance, with responsibility over quality
  • Identify any roadblocks disturbing workshop flow and ensure that each technician has the tools and training required
  • Supervise health and safety compliance across the workshop, setting the tone and always leading by example
  • Oversee inventory management, making sure the workshop is tidy and well organized
  • Ensure that work standards and available engineering procedures are uptodate, accurate and that all work is compliant
  • Hold daily meetings with the team, outlining expectations and workload for the day ahead
  • Plan, prepare and distribute work to technicians based on skill level, capacity and resources
  • Motivate, lead and inspire the team in continuous improvements and efficiencies
  • Identify any training needs within the team and arrange relevant training courses as required
  • Liaise daily with internal teams within the Service Centre including Sales, Parts, and local Management
  • Other related duties as assigned

WHAT YOU BRING ALONG

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Automotive Technician
  • Valid 310S License (or equivalent), Driver's License and clean driver's abstract/record
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic vehicle components, prior Electric Vehicle experience an asset
  • Skilled in vehicle diagnostic systems and methods, a problemsolver that is capable of fixing problems when they arise, but who is also keen on understanding why they happened
  • Proven ability to lead by example and be innovative with processes and efficiencies
  • Analytical ability to understand and impact key performance indicators
  • Ability to motivate a team, to engage and facilitate others to achieve and succeed
  • Digitally savvy ability to adopt and adapt quickly to new technology and systems
  • A calm, considered approach with exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with VinFast team members
  • High levels of attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize, and manage shifting responsibilities in a dynamic, crossfunctional teamwork environment
