About the role


We are looking for a
Business Advisor with a focus on producing business recommendation to enable an effortless customer experience in our Claims Department.

This role is a
15 month contract position based out of our
Calgary office location.


As an
Intermediate
Business Advisor, you will combine customer expectations, process knowledge, data analytics & stakeholder feedback to determine root causes of problems and find unique solutions.

Your recommendations will be backed up by well-rounded analysis of information and will focus on ease of doing business & decreasing customer effort.

What you'll do here:


  • Understand and challenge status quo, ask questions and make recommendations to reengineer processes or business tactics and drive significant reduction of customer effort.
  • Actively lead or participate in the collection, research and organization of data to summarize specific business issues or answer questions.
  • Combine data elements from various sources, create trends & display information in various ways with the purpose of surfacing root causes of problems.
  • Clearly summarize and present information concisely to diverse audiences and levels of leadership within the organization, to obtain buyin into solutions.
  • Contribute to the creation of detailed business plans & business cases, including thorough analysis of volume of work, resources, timelines etc.
  • Work collaboratively with the team and stakeholders to seek input and combine data with process information to propose well rounded tactical solutions.
  • Proactively identify new data elements that may provide further insight into performance or business trends.
  • Complete industry analytics on market trends as required.

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a business advisor, consultant, analyst, or similar role, supporting operations in insurance, banking, or related industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present information to leaders
  • Inquisitive & strategic thinker with ability to
    drive results and influence stakeholders
  • Selfdriven and highly organized with the ability to prioritize work and exercise independent thinking.
  • Experience with root cause analysis
  • Previous experience leading or defining processes for successful operations
  • Excellent
    analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Lean Six Sigma Education (preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in
    Power BI, Excel (Power Query), Visio, Power Point
