- * Assessing clients' barriers, abilities, competencies, interests, work experience, and education.

  • Creating rehabilitation plans for clients, taking into account individual strengths.
  • Helping clients adapt to vocational challenges, including those acquired later in life.
  • Providing empathy and understanding to those experiencing grief and loss due to disability
  • Creating Individual Vocational Rehabilitation Plans in collaboration with case managers, physicians, physical therapists, and psychologists.
  • Facilitating sessions with family members/caregivers, employers and volunteer supervisors to better understand and support clients' employment goals.
  • Consulting with employers and other stakeholders to facilitate access to employment.
  • Collecting labor market information.
  • Locating resources such as computer software, mobility aids, or community support.
  • Identifying vocational training opportunities.
  • Monitoring, documenting, and reporting progress using our database, as well as changing rehabilitation plans accordingly.
  • Keeping informed of advancements in vocational rehabilitation therapy. *Qualifications
- * 1-2 years' experience working with people with disabilities

  • Related Degree OR postsecondary diploma in rehabilitation, social work, applied counselling, career development, disability management or other related education and experience
  • Mental Health training and experience
  • Motivational Interviewing experience or training would be an asset
  • Training / experience in Case Management
  • RVP, RRP and CVRP / CCVE credentials or willingness to work towards
  • NOC and Career Handbook knowledge would be an asset
  • Knowledge and training in Positive Psychology would be an asset *Skills
- * Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate compassion, empathy and a non-judgemental approach

  • Comfortable navigating difficult conversations with compassion
  • Knowledge of mental health and return to work
  • Strong documentation and report writing
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills
  • PHIA and FIPPA knowledge
  • Able to work in the "grey zone"
  • Objectivity, professionalism and optimism

  • Computer / technology skills proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and ability to learn databases

  • Personal vehicle, class 5 driver's license, ability to drive to surrounding communities rurally across Manitoba
  • Willingness to learn on the job and a growth mindset We offer a competitive starting wage and training / professional development to support you in this meaningful opportunity. _We are open to providing assistance in helping you achieve your CVRP status._ We are also pleased to offer a group health employee benefit package. Flexibility to work a hybrid schedule (part time in office, part time from home) would be required.
