As part of our Engineering team, you'll help drive product development, business systems, data analytics, security, and architecture.

The Product Owner's chief responsibility will be to translate business needs from various stakeholders to functional requirements and user stories for our Animal Health software products.

Reporting to the PO Lead, the Product Owner role is also important for the continued growth in capacity of the team by ensuring that high quality analysis and planning is achieved, enabling high quality downstream development.

Technical writing forms another key responsibility as there is a need to explain complex information in a clear and concise manner, and work with internal stakeholders to enable high customer satisfaction.

Here's how:

Works with the SMEs to understand requirements' dependencies.
Supports the PO Lead with intrateam dynamics with respect to priorities and scope.
Creates specification documents for the engineering team (level of documentation may vary depending on the requirement and specific needs of the team)
Works with developers and QA analysts during development and testing activities
Participates with the team to define and implement improvement stories to increase the velocity and quality of software development programs.
Manages other special projects and other duties as required.

What you bring to this role

Minimum 7 years with business analysis and technical writing skills with at least 2 years performing user driven development with an agile team.
Proficient at translating business needs from external and internal stakeholders into functional requirements and user stories for a development team
Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and practices
Experience working with SMEs to facilitate the sizing of epics and user stories.
Ability to understand and represent both the business and technology.
Proficient with user driven development and requirements gathering.
Experience writing functional requirements.
Passionate commitment to delivering products on time.

Excellent communication skills.

Experience with UI / UX design.

Asset

Experience with the Agriculture industry, specifically Animal Health.
Tools: JIRA, Confluence, Slack, Miro, Balsamiq, G Suite

Education / Certification Requirements

Bachelor's degree or similar experience
Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
