    Currently, we are assisting our client with their search for a *Salvagnini Operator in Brantford, ON *Successful candidates will be responsible for various labour duties, operating the salvagnini machine, and operating a forklift.

    This position operates from *Friday to Sunday *and is available for three 12 hour shifts.

    *Job Description:

    *KEY Responsibilities:
    § Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (or the "Act") and the regulations; use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that the client requires to be used or worn; report to the Supervisor the absence or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware and which may endanger themselves or another worker; and report to the Supervisor any contravention of the Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which the worker is aware

    § Run break downs on the machine as per schedule

    § Recognize when break downs need to be moved to another machine and inform the team leader

    § Inform the team leader of any break down discrepancies

    § Inform the team leader of any program or design concerns

    § Inform the team leader of any variations between parts and prints

    § Inform the team leader of any bending issues or opportunities

    § Inspect, verify gauges and approve raw material for use

    § Inspect, verify material and dimensions of parts

    § Unload parts, sort and organize for optimum throughput

    § Remove slugs from the machine to avoid marking the remaining material

    § Verify quantities of parts to the prints

    § Store parts on cart in a safe manner with paperwork

    § Move the cart to the proper location for the next process

    § Plan material handling in advance to minimize machine downtime

    § Maintain all logs, paperwork and records

    § Perform PM as per schedule and/or instructions

    § Perform tool changes

    § Report any minor or major damages to the equipment

    § Maintain equipment and trouble shoot machine as required

    § Instruct and monitor helper to work safely and as per work instruction and quality system

    § Plan to cover breaks to increase machine uptime when instructed

    § Drive forklift to material handle steel (if applicable)

    § Follow safety requirements while driving forklift (including fastening seat belts and wearing safety glasses) (if applicable)

    § Perform safety inspection on forklifts and report as per procedure (if applicable)

    § Perform other duties as required

    *Skills & Experience:
    § Minimum of 6 months experience in Machine Operation

    § Previous mechanical experience

    § Forklift license or ability to achieve Forklift license (if applicable)

    § Ability to learn new technology and other skills quickly

    § Ability to read blue prints and data sheets

    § Intermediate computer skills including experience in Windows operating systems

    § Must know how to use a tape measure

    § Must know how to use a vernier

    § Intermediate math skills including the ability to convert fractions to decimals

    § Ability to operate with a continuous sense of urgency in a fast paced working environment

    § Strong organizational skills

    § Strong problem solving skills

    § Intermediate verbal and written communication skills

    § Physically fit for heavy lifting of >35 lbs

    $23.50-$25.50 per hour

    Expected hours: 36 per week


    Schedule:

    • 12 hour shift
    • Evening shift
