Description
JPD Contracting is seeking a motivated and reliable General Laborer to join our team. As a General Laborer, you will play a crucial role in various aspects of our operations.

This position involves performing a range of physical tasks and assisting in maintaining the overall functionality and cleanliness of our facilities.


Responsibilities:

Physical Tasks: Perform a variety of manual labor tasks, including but not limited to lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading materials and equipment.

Construction Support: Assist skilled workers in construction projects by providing materials, tools, and equipment as needed. Help with setting up and dismantling scaffolding, temporary structures, and other construction-related tasks.

Site Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work environment by sweeping, cleaning, and ensuring tools and materials are properly stored.

Assistance with Equipment: Assist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of machinery and tools used in daily operations. This may include power tools, hand tools, and heavy machinery.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to supervisors immediately.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to complete tasks efficiently and effectively. Communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and task coordination.

Flexibility: Willingness to take on a variety of tasks as needed, adapting to changing priorities and responsibilities.


Qualifications:


  • Previous experience in general labor, construction, or a related field is a plus.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift heavy objects repeatedly.
  • Familiarity with basic hand and power tools is advantageous.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety practices and a commitment to following them at all times.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as required.

Salary:
$18.00-$20.00 per hour


Flexible Language Requirement:

  • French not required

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

  • Overtime pay

  • Victoria, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
