Join us and let's work together for a better BC. Position OverviewAn enthusiastic Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Sustainability Co-op student is required to assist the Program Manager, Program Operations in the Conservation & Energy Management department.
This Co-op opportunity is intended for students enrolled as undergraduates at a recognized accredited institution.This is a 4 month co-op term starting September 2023. Responsibilities
Gain experience within FortisBC's Conservation & Energy Management Team and FortisBC.
Gain experience in effective team and partner collaborations.
Work to support FortisBC's investments in Cleantech innovation through it's Clean Growth Innovation Fund, and producing market share analysis to support the gas utility's system extension activities
Tasks include:
Invoice processing and budget tracking
Procuring and refining new home data from external sources
Scrubbing data, in excel format, for consistency of information and formatting
Producing visual reports using pre established PowerBI templates
Managing document flow and storage
Scheduling tasks for multiple parties within FortisBC
Serving as the coordinator between FortisBC and an independent cleantech investment fund
Collaborating with other departments to incorporate additional FortisBC data into a market capture rate analysis.
3rd or 4th year student, enrolled in a Bachelor of Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability or a related Degree program with intent to return to school after the co-op work term.
Must be enrolled in a co-op program. Other QualificationsCreative thinker with strong skills in the use of business analysis, financial evaluation methods, and project management;
Ability to communicate effectively and to maintain collaborative relationships;
Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
Strong presentation skills;
Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel and, Word;
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills;
Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving - capable of complex reasoning analysis;
Interpersonal skills - able to collaborate on projects, maintain effective relationships, and communicate clearly;
Independent - ability to work well under limited supervision;
Knowledge of MS SharePoint, Teams, and PowerBI are assets;
Programming skills and data analytics experience are an asset.
