Interprovincial Cooperative Limited (IPCO) is hiring a Safety and Training Coordinator on a permanent basis on our Agri Products team.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our robust health & safety program and contribute to IPCO's goal of zero lost time due to accidents.

This position requires on-site work and is based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.


What you'll do:


  • Provide training on topics including but not limited to WHMIS, fire safety, and transportation of dangerous goods (TDG). You will also conduct orientation and coordinate thirdparty training required by the plant.
  • Complete all safety audits to ensure IPCO remains compliant under regulatory requirements. This will include communicating with regulators, preparing documentation, and providing regular guidance to plant employees.
  • Lead incident investigations in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner. You will ensure that root cause analysis is completed and that suitable correcting actions are applied.
  • Coordinate programs and events related to IPCO's health & safety culture. This includes the mandatory medical plan, hearing and lung testing, and emergency response plan, among others.
  • Coordinate with human resources as it relates to WCB claims and return to work activities.

You will report to the Agri Products Manager as part of a larger team that strives for a culture of support, customer focus, and continuous improvement.

While you will be the sole individual in this role, you will have access to a network of Health & Safety professionals from across the Co-operative Retailing System.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Health & Safety and:

  • Have 5+ years of experience in a Health and Safety position.
  • Have a certificate in OH&S or a diploma in a related discipline.
  • Are certified in TDG Train the Trainer, WHMIS, and forklift operation.
  • Have a Lean/Operational Excellence certificate (A minimum of one of the following: Yellow belt, Green belt, 5S management, root cause analysis) from a recognized source accrediting body. Or a minimum of 5 years of experience utilizing those methodologies.
