If you are a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with excellent people skills, consider joining our Finance Department in the full-time position of
Accounting Clerk. This position will be based out of our Head Office location in Cambridge.
- Provide clerical accounting support to various companies within the Reid's Heritage Group of Companies.
- Deposit cheques received for the group of companies using electronic cheque scanner.
- When required, deposit certified cheques/bank drafts in person at various banks.
- Prepare various customer invoices and intercompany billings.
- Review legal statement of adjustments, purchaser signed contracts, and compare to NewStar records before sending to lawyers in advance of home sale closings.
- Process journal entries in NewStar to record bank transfers, financing draws and other transactions.
- Prepare bank and other account reconciliations.
- Assist in financial reporting. (monthly, quarterly, ad hoc)
- Data entry as required including coding Credit Card transactions in Excel template.
- Follow up on accounts receivable collections.
- Prepare T5018 reports
- Statement of Contract Payments.
- Provide backup support for various department functions.
- Other tasks as assigned.

- Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize competing tight deadlines and peak workload times including daily cash deposits.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills confident reaching out to lawyers and other departments for missing information.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- This role is responsible for ensuring amounts on legal closing documents are correct.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to manipulate large amount of data efficiently.
- 23 years accounting experience or equivalent combination of experience and formal accounting education.
- Experience working with NewStar accounting systems is an asset.
- Experience in the Homebuilding industry is an asset.
