    Job Summary

    The purpose of this position is to be a member of the Equinix Global Tax Team with a primary focus on Hyperscale Joint Venture international income tax compliance and income tax accounting. The ideal candidate must have a strong general tax background including competent analytical and critical thinking capability and the ability to manage advisors.

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate and coordinate with outside service providers to manage US & international income tax compliance and income tax payment processes to ensure timely submission of accurate income tax returns, withholding tax returns and tax payments for multiple subsidiaries in multiple jurisdictions
    • Be responsible for data accumulation required for the preparation of income tax filings
    • Manage quarterly and annual income tax accounting process for Hyperscale Joint Venture entities under US GAAP, IFRS and local GAAP for the management report and statutory report
    • Be responsible for quarter end close procedures, including the preparation of tax account reconciliations
    • Research local tax requirements for expanded geographic presence, conduct various tax research projects and analyze the income tax implications of any new tax legislations with proper memorandums prepared
    • Maintain tax fixed asset register for US and local country tax purposes
    • Work closely with FP&A to review quarterly/annual forecast and prepare cash tax forecast
    • Assist with tax planning and strategies implementation in the various regions
    • Assist with the tax controversy team related to income tax audits in various regions, discuss technical issues with tax auditors and negotiate audit settlement
    • Operate with limited oversight/direction, coordinate schedule and establish directives
    • Supervise, manage and train staff
    • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all areas of Hyperscale Joint Venture income taxes for internal responsible parties

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years plus working experience with BIG 4 and/or corporate tax department is preferred
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
    • CPA/Chartered Accountant/Equivalent certification preferred
    • Master of Taxation preferred
    • Extensive experience in global corporate income tax compliance preferred
    • Sufficient knowledge of US income tax laws and regulations related to multi-national corporations.
    • Demonstrated technical strength and knowledge related to income tax accounting and income tax reporting
    • Self-starter with strong accounting, analytical, time management and project management skills
    • Ability to recognize, understand, and analyze complex issues with excellent communication and writing skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management in an organization
    • Must be well-organized, hands-on, detail-oriented and able to work independently and as part of a team
    • Proficient computer skills including strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, TRCS)

    The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

    • San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $143,000 to $235,000 per year


    Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
