Reporting to the Senior Manager, EHG Practice, the Emerging Companies Practice Coordinator provides practice group support to Osler's Emerging Companies Group, and its clients, with respect to the development of new business, research and practice management.
Major Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes & directs the day to day operations of the EHG Practice
- Direct/first point of contact for new clients/business intake for the EHG Practice
- Manages allocation and work flow of new clients
- Directs & engages staff members with incoming work
- Provides record management & other administrative services for the EHG Practice
- Works alongside the local and national client and business development teams, as well as the Senior Manager, EHG Practice to assist with Business Development responsibilities for the EHG practice as well EHG supported sponsorships
- Adhoc duties as need to ensure smooth running of EHG practice
- Assist the group with strategy development
- Acts as a liaison for external partnerships
- Works closely with other departments throughout the firm, such as, marketing, client development, business development & market recognition teams
- Assists with the planning and organization of internal and external events
- Proactive in implementing practice processes
- Assists with practice innovation and initiatives
Position Requirements
Education and Experience
This position requires a University or college diploma (preferably in business or paralegal studies) plus a minimum of one to two years of relevant experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Proactive, highly organized, detail orientated and ability to manage a high volume of tasks
- Discretion and a strong client service orientation are essential
- Excellent problemsolving skills
- Extremely well organized with superb attention to detail
- Disciplined execution and follow through; excellent time management skills are essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships
- A team player who also works well independently
- Strong ability to learn existing business practices
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be a selfstarter and be highly motivated to handle a fastpaced environment.
- Proficient in MS Office
