Your Opportunity:


Reporting to the Senior Director, Capital Management Calgary Zone, the Capital Project Liaison works with a high degree of independence and in concert with internal and external stakeholders to plan and implement processes, programs, and projects.

The Capital Project Liaison develops and manages various initiatives, plans, and programs and provides ongoing client support between individuals, departments, programs, sites, and the Alberta Infrastructure Project Management team.

The position will provide leadership to develop a strategy for the coordination and delivery of tools/resources and leads the implementation of assigned projects and programs.

This position provides advice and direction to internal stakeholders within its specialty function and scope of the Major Capital Project.


Description:


The Capital Project Liaison will interpret client needs, assess requirements and identify solutions to nonstandard issues and requests and work to ensure AHS values, goals and principles are implemented and integrated in the delivery of services.


The position is also responsible for:
Ensures involvement of the right stakeholders at the right time. Communicates to ensure that information regarding the project is made available to stakeholders and Alberta Healthier Services project sponsors. Understands project management and processes. Facilitates stakeholders' input during planning and design stages of the major capital project. Ensures familiarity with project and project documents. Ensures issues are resolved and concerns expressed in a timely manner.

Knowledgeable about trends and modern concepts in healthcare design and functions and acts as a resource to the Project Manager team.

Works with Project Manager, consultants and others to interpret user requirements, provide advice and clarification regarding specific service needs.

Required Qualifications:


A minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Health Discipline/ Healthcare Admin / Management, Architecture, Interior Design or related area plus appropriate license or other recognized designations or equivalent.

A minimum of five (5) years Clinical preferably in an acute care setting, health care facility planning or project management including planning and design experience in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity.

A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.


Additional Required Qualifications:


Extensive knowledge of the client group/ function supported and best practices applicable to Alberta Health Services, Capital Management, Capital Operations & Government Integration, and Planning & Design.

Facilitation, communication and/or coordination experience in project planning, execution, reporting, monitoring and evaluation. Experience managing physical and human resources and related financial and statistical information. Significant experience in problem solving, concerns resolution, investigation, and negotiation.

Team leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.

Demonstrated ability to foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills. Ability to influence and client focused. Orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Ability to relay or explain complex issues or difficult situations. Skills in negotiation, facilitation and conflict resolution are required. Ability to develop and facilitate presentations to convey information or transfer knowledge. Experience in coordinating research projects or teams, complex data analysis and/or interpretation, evaluation methodologies, and developing formal reports. Demonstrated ability to facilitate change.


Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Health Discipline/ Healthcare Admin / Management, Architecture, Interior Design or related area.
