Role Overview:

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounting Assistant will be responsible for monthly invoice processing and assist in the day-to-day financial administration of the Company.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable:_
  • Process and coding of invoices for accounts payable;
  • Provide expense report support;
  • Processing payments for vendors on weekly basis (cheques, EFTs, and wire transfers);
  • Prepare monthly accrual schedule;
  • Process intercompany invoices, reconcile intercompany balances and prepare cash calls for the mine sites;
  • Financial Administration_
  • Bank reconciliations;
  • Review and confirm gold sales and options trade with banks, communicate with refinery and mine site to ensure the trades go through and money received on time;
  • Prepare and update prepaid schedule;
  • Assist with period end close and financial reporting process, as required;
  • Assist in various other reporting functions, including the following:
  • the preparation of journal entries;
- the analysis and reconciliation of the general ledger accounts;
- reconciliation and review of company-wide cash reconciliation process;
- assist with special projects and ad hoc rep

  • Provide support and documentation, as required by the Manager of Internal Control and external auditors;
  • Assist with other duties, as requested

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5 years' experience in a similar position
  • Accounting accreditation, or working towards one preferred;
  • Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system an asset;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Ability to communicate clearly written and verbal;
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
