Job Description
Our Summer Student program runs each year from May to August, offering summer employment to students currently enrolled or recently graduated from applicable post-secondary studies. This program is funded by the federal government run Canada Summer Jobs Grant which requires successful candidates be 30 years of age or younger and a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
We are looking for: A full-time contract IT Student
Hours of Work: 34 hours/week. Monday-Thursday: 8:30 am-4:30 pm, Friday: 8:30 am-3:30 pm, with flexibility to work until 6:00 pm on some days. This is a hybrid work from home role.
Reports to: Manager, IT
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing and maintaining the Active Directory environment.
- Manage security groups and distribution groups for access control.
- Assist in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the phone system (RingCentral).
- Assist in managing and supporting Microsoft 365 applications and services (e.g. Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
- Install and update software, drivers and operating systems.
- Update inventory of IT assets and document configurations.
- Assist in creating and updating IT manuals, FAQs, and user guides.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and IT best practices.
Risk, Health and Safety Management
- Participating in health and safety processes and procedures.
- Participating in maintaining a safe workplace environment by cultivating a positive safety culture and encouraging best practices to promote both staff and client safety and well-being
- Participating in all health and safety training initiatives on a regular basis.
- Taking proactive action against client incidents within your scope of practice.
- Protecting the wellbeing of staff by providing a safe and healthy working environment.
- Promoting a culture of safety by being responsible for encouraging blame-free reporting.
- Investigating adverse events by performing a root cause analysis and gathering all relevant information as it pertains to the event.
Qualifications
- Good understanding of Microsoft Intune.
- Creation of asset tags using inventory tools.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
