The Business Banking Data & Analytics (BB D&A) group is responsible for stewardship of all analytics, reporting and data management requirements for Business Banking.

The group supports Business Banking product and sales teams in the areas of analytics, insights, performance measurement, business intelligence and reporting.

The group also develops and executes policies, practices and procedures that properly manage the business's data needs and adhere to data governance standards as set out by the Enterprise Data Governance Office (EDGO) and Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A).

About this Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager (Data in Projects), the Lead Business Insights Analyst is responsible for the holistic identification of Business Analytics, Reporting and Data Management Requirements as part of several BB pods in Programs / Projects / BAU.

They will work closely and take guidance from Business Bankers, Data Management Leads, and TS counterparts, while facilitating stakeholders in understanding the impact of business processes on the data, both net-new and existing.

The incumbent will also work together with project stakeholders to help drive several data activities, as defined by the BB Data in Projects Framework, including both the Enterprise Data Governance Office (EDGO) and Analytics capabilities as defined by Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A).

The Lead Business Insights Analyst will help enable comprehensive analytics delivery within the project/pod, in a risk-managed approach aligned to the BB Data Strategy.

Accountabilities Include:

Responsible for 2way scoping of Business Analytics, Reporting and Data Management Requirements for several BB projects / programs and Pods.
Facilitate a breakdown of business analytics requirements including to identify reporting needs both for implementation in both operational data stores as well as analytical platforms (i.e. Akora)
Collaborate across BB D&A Pillars to ensure appropriate development, business acceptance testing, rollout and transition to Day
Understand data structures being modified and created across the projects and conduct lineage / reverseengineering to understanding impacts to existing BB D&A Artefacts (i.e. Reporting, Analytics)
Collaborate with project team to verify business data test cases scenarios covers data quality meeting data requirements; create new test cases if required. High level verification of the quality data in lower environments.
Ensure decisions and solutions are aligned with the BB Data in Projects Framework and the larger BB Data Strategy
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation both across the entire data architecture, as well as within the project and the overall DIP Team
Conduct knowledge transfer with the project teams and with DG&A Teams
Support the project team in quantifying the benefits to the Business bank through leveraging data
Collaborate to develop a capacity management model in collaboration with the Sr Manager to ensure work is aligned across Business Insights Analysts and Data Management Leads in the Data in Projects Team
Facilitate and document current data state and future data target states to ensure effects of data are understood and communicated across all project stakeholders
Work effectively with multiple teams across a broad spectrum of initiatives and functional domains, influencing and aligning others as needed;
Provide functional / business level communications to ensure messages to stakeholders and / or employees are consistent, appropriate and aligned to business strategies and executive management direction;
Develop new standards for Data documentation for use by projects, and communicate these to both D&A, Business and Technology Stakeholders
Participate fully as a member of the Business Bank's Data & Analytics team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues;

Seasoned Business Analyst leader with proven ability to assess, facilitate and ensure deliver holistic analytics, reporting and data management activities, on time and on budget, aligned to business needs
Experience leading data related initiatives with specific emphasis on data retention and disposition expertise considered an asset;
Strategic mindset with the ability to understand implications of key decisions on policies, downstream processes, etc.;
Knowledge of Business Bank data and systems considered an asset;
