We're looking for a Facilities Supervisor based out of Edmonton, AB, to lead our maintenance team to ensure our multi-family properties in are upheld and new initiatives are championed.


Your contributions to the team include:

  • Supervise the maintenance team while following established policies and procedures to ensure standards are met
  • Supervise and train staff on existing and/or newly implemented policies and procedures
  • Provide technical skill support and training related to residential building and property maintenance
  • Provide support and training on efficient monthend turnover management
  • Expedite completion of work as required based on monthend turnover, urgency and company goals
  • Manage and support priorities for preventative maintenance
  • Support the inventory management program; ensure processes and procedures are followed
  • Visit sites regularly inspecting properties for damage and inefficiencies, verify the quality of maintenance and ensure upholding the company standards
  • Work alongside our coordination department with the planning and implementation of capital projects
  • Involved in the preparation and planning of the annual budget and report on financial performance regularly
  • Reports to the Western Facilities Manager on staffing/recruitment, physical condition of the properties, and financial issues.
  • Conduct team recruitment and oversee the performance management process
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with other team members, ensuring tenant satisfaction is a priority
  • Address maintenancerelated complaints and violations, and provides solutions
  • Offer emergency support in regards to asset stabilization; prepare team members to respond in emergency situations
  • Ensure all safety procedures during all repairs and maintenance are followed
  • Maintain working knowledge of environmental safeguards and alarm systems

What you need to be successful:

  • Experience in residential property management or similar
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a supervisory role
  • Strong background in staff management and leadership
  • Ability to lead and manage a large team to meet productivity requirements while creating and maintaining a positive team environment
  • Thorough understanding of how to create and manage budgets
  • Computer skills to use the internet, Microsoft Office suite, corporate property software
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Ability to travel and work an unpredictable schedule
