Blue Cactus Bar and Grill Job Brief
We are looking for a full time Executive Chef who is creative and knowledgeable in all aspects of food preparation.
They will also be responsible for ordering food and supplies, and ensuring that all health and safety regulations are followed.
Responsibilities
Planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities
Creating innovative menus, group menus, in house catering menus and recipes
Keep up with cooking trends and best practices
Supervising food production to ensure consistency and quality standards
Collaborating with restaurant management to plan and execute special events
Estimate food requirements and food/labor costs
Maintain and monitor inventor
Recruit and manage kitchen staff
Supervise kitchen staff's activities
Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
Rectify arising problems or complaints
Perform administrative duties
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Scheduling of shifts
Qualifications
- Proven experience as Kitchen Manager in a fastpaced, sitdown restaurant environment
- Excellent record of kitchen management
- Must have letter of recommendation from previous employers
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to build team moral during stressful shifts
- Ability to manage a fastpaced kitchen environment while upholding quality standards
- Experience in communicating and delivering messages to the team, both positive and in a constructive manner
- Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
- Capable of delegating multiple tasks
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs
