Global Gourmet Foods is a federally registered food manufacturer who supplies premium kettle products to key accounts in both domestic and export markets.
We are seeking dynamic individuals that can work with Shipping/ Receiving department.DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Assists Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to ensure and maintain a timely and accurate flow of products to be shipped
- Responsible for receiving raw materials and storing in the designated areas and required storage condition. Inspection of incoming trailers must be completed and documented
- Responsible to keep inventory and /or warehouse condition for raw materials as assigned, samples as assigned and finished products
- Verifies quantities and item numbers on all incoming products to ensure that the incoming materials match the Purchase Orders
- Report to supervisor if any food safety concern in raw material and finished product
- Complete receiving reports when needed
- At the commencement of each shift ensures forklift is clean and operable to a safe and satisfactory level
- Advises supervisor and/or management of any defects, such as forklift if battery is not in proper working condition
- Maintains work area to a satisfactory level of cleanliness and sanitation
- Complies with all safety policy, accident prevention and compliance programs
- Performs other duties as assigned by management or supervisor
- Remove garbage in shipping area
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent secondary school
- Must have Forklift Certification
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift heavy materials unassisted in addition to continuous physical labour of pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing and bending activities
- Ability to work in extreme cold temperatures (warehouse, cooler, freezers, etc.)
- Ability to speak, read and write English. Knowledge of other languages such as Chinese, is an asset
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment or related environment is also an asset
