- Clean and disinfect enclosures and outside area by removing feces, soiled bedding and food.
- Spread new bedding and clean food bowls.
- Washing of floors and enclosures.
- Feed animals.
- Watch animals and report any unusual behaviour or health concerns.
- Take dogs outside for exercising and playtime.
- Answer public enquiries.
- Contact owners of found pets.
- Give attention and affection to animals in the pound.
- Minimum Grade 12 education
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License
- Working with animals / pounded animals is an asset.
- Provide a clean RCMP Background Check
- Clean Driver's Abstract
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations and act professionally under those situations
- Occasional moderate lifting of equipment and supplies
- Being in and out of the pool on regular basis
- Exposure to heat, chlorine, other chemicals, and humidity
- Noise level is usually moderate
- May be assigned an irregular work schedule, including weekends, early mornings, and evening
