    JOB DUTIES:

    THE ROLE:

    • The Client Performance and Power Engineering Team carries the duty of ensuring Client products deliver the best performance and lowest power consumption.
    • We are a highly visible team that goes deep into power management features and algorithms to get the very last percent out of our ASICs.
    • We work along and with various individuals within and outside of the team that allows us to engage in all sorts of work that impacts current and future products.
    • This role offers the opportunity to show your passion towards CPU, APU, and GPU technology to provide users with the best experience possible.

    THE PERSON:

    • We are seeking an experienced engineer to assist in the development of post-silicon activities related to performance and power characterization and optimization of Client Computing products.
    • We are looking for a passionate candidate to join our highly-visible team to deliver the highest performing and most power efficient products to millions of users worldwide.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Executing performance, power, and perf/watt characterization and optimization plans
    • Analysing interactions between various power management features and optimize their configurations for performance and power
    • Proactively driving continuous improvement for post-silicon power and performance activities (e.g. updating, creating and maintaining automation tools, benchmarks and process)
    • Support prototyping experiments for improving current and implementing new features that impact performance and power
    • Debugging and troubleshooting system-level issues that may occur in test environments and platforms

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

    • Understanding of concepts in the following areas:
    • computer organization/architecture
    • digital/analog electronics
    • power/thermal management
    • Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to detail
    • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
    • Experience in programming with C or C++ and Python
    • Experience with data analysis tools, database, machine learning is a plus (e.g. PowerBi, Excel, Matplotlib, Plotly, Tableau, R Programming, MySQL, Azure, Snowflake, PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.)
    • Experience with data acquisition unit (DAQ) and debug/trace tools is also an asset

    ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

    • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer, Electrical, or Systems Engineering and Computer Science
