Building Services Worker / Handyman:

Wage: $27 - $30 per hour, based on experience
Hours:
Monday - Friday, Casual/On-Call
Location:
Call outs range between Ladysmith, Nanaimo, Parksville and Comox
With 14 club locations spread across the beautiful communities of the Comox Valley, Parksville, Lantzville, Nanaimo, and Ladysmith, BGC Central Vancouver Island proudly serves over 1000 members each year.
The Building Services Worker will be responsible for maintenance requirements as they pertain to the efficient operation of the facilities which include but are not limited to regular maintenance, repairs, and building improvements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Repairing holes or blemishes in drywall, including patching and painting
- Assembling furniture items for clubs
- Basic repairs on appliances, toilets, and sinks
- Securing shelving or cabinetry to walls to prevent tipping.
- Inspect operating condition of equipment and log information as necessary.
- Makes recommendations for repairs, replacements, or upgrades to be reviewed.
- Ensures the safety of the building, equipment, and staff.
- Be available for emergency callins.
Qualifications
- Must pass screening process including a background check
- Ability to travel to multiple locations between Comox and Ladysmith
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Requisite knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the environment
- Skills in general maintenance including assessments, installations, and repairs
- Class 5 License Mandatory
