Be our next **Intermediate Environmental Scientist or Engineer in Training or a Geoscientist
Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the
Environmental team, based in
Burnaby, BC office reporting to the Geotechnical Discipline Manager.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Conduct project coordination, fieldwork and reporting for a variety of contaminated sites projects in BC using standard BC Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Strategy (BC MOECCS) field methodologies, technical guidance and protocols under the direction and mentoring of senior professionals;
- Must be open to conducting fieldwork (drilling, well development, groundwater sampling, survey, slug tests etc.) both in town and out of town as required;
- Prepare reports (Stage 1 & 2 Preliminary Site Investigation, Detailed Site Investigation, Remediation etc.) g for a variety of contaminated sites projects in BC;
- Assist with desktop reviews, environmental monitoring projects, due diligence environmental investigations being conducted for regulatory submission (BCMOECCS);
- Other duties as assigned/required.
What your experience looks like
- Engineer in Training, Geoscientist in Training currently registered with EGBC preferred, Scientists with the qualifications to register with a professional association other than EGBC will also be considered ;
- University degree in Engineering (civil/environmental), Geoscience or Science;
- Knowledge of provincial (BC Contaminated Sites Regulation, Hazardous Waste Regulation), and federal (CCME) guidelines for contaminated sites assessments;
- Physical ability to undertake fieldwork assignments throughout BC;
- Experience in conducting contaminated sites investigations (Stage1 and 2 Preliminary Site Investigations, Detailed Site Investigations) is a requirement;
- Experience with hazardous material surveys and erosion and sediment control monitoring is considered an asset;
- A motivated, selfstarter with a demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team environment;
- High attention to detail and organization skills is required to be successful in this role
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as technical writing abilities.
