CORPORATE FINANCIAL ANALYST:

The Corporate Services Branch is looking for a Corporate Financial Analyst for an indeterminate position. The position is classified as an RÉ-05 ($68,641 to $91,072 per annum).

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Chief, Corporate Financial Management, the Corporate Financial Analyst provides support to the Chief and the team on Corporate financial deliverables such as the Corporate Plan, the Annual Report, Quarterly reports, Annual Reference Levels Adjustments, Supplementary Estimates, Management and maintenance of budgets and encumbrances for the Corporation.

The individual prepares analysis, presentations to Committees, journal vouchers and budget transfers.

The Corporate Financial Analyst also participates in the Corporate Financial System DAX upgrades including testing, end users basic training and Salary Management.

The individual interacts with all DAX Financials' users throughout the National Capital Commission (NCC) on financial matters.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:


EDUCATION:
University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce or in a related field.


EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in each of the following areas:

  • Financial analysis, financial reporting, financial advisory, and budgetary analysis;
  • Use of software tools, specifically electronic spreadsheets and financial systems.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Of the management of financial information and of general accounting;
  • Of the preparation of financial reports including financial statements;
  • Of Canadian accounting standard for the Public Sector;
  • Of internal controls relating to financial and accounting operations.

  • Possess or eligible to obtain Secret security clearance;

ASSETS

  • Hold or working towards getting a Professional Accounting Designation such as Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA);
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX financial software.
