Batch Plant Operator at our Precast plant in Armstrong
.

Job Duties (but not limited to):

Batching Operation:

  • Operate a modern computerized concrete batching plant to produce wet cast concrete to precise specifications.
  • Oversee the concrete batching equipment to accurately proportion and mix various concrete components according to project specifications.
  • Monitor computerized systems to ensure precise measurements and adherence to mix design.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct regular quality control checks on raw materials, ensuring they meet established standards.
  • Conduct regular testing of concrete samples and make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Adjust batching processes as needed to maintain consistent concrete quality.

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance on batching equipment to ensure its optimal functioning.
  • Utilize heavy mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain batching plant equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and address any equipment malfunctions promptly.

Inventory Management and Coordination:

  • Manage inventory, purchase, and receive cement, aggregates, and admixtures.
  • Collaborate with production and delivery teams to schedule concrete production based on project requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to address specific mix design needs.

Recordkeeping and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of production volumes, materials used, and batch adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate records for Quality Control and reporting.
  • Complete required paperwork and reports in a timely and organized manner.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper handling and storage of raw materials.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety program.

Plant Maintenance and Organization:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the plant premises at all times.
  • Monitor and perform maintenance tasks in the plant as required.

Requirements:


  • Minimum 1 year as a Batch Plant operator or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining a computerized concrete batching plant.
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles, mix designs, and ability to conduct concrete testing.
  • Heavy mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and maintenance of batching plant equipment.
  • Selfmotivated individual with effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Pay:
$28.00-$35.00 per hour

Education:


  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:


  • Concrete mixer: 1 year (required)
