Building and Facilities Operations Manager

Help us maintain our beautiful property, work with amazing staff, take your break for a hot lunch in the cafeteria, and be home on time without on-call or weekend shifts.
The Role:
You will use your extensive knowledge and experience with building operations and maintenance program administration to:
- Ensure staff, visitors, contractors, and tenants attend a clean, safe, and comfortable building and property in Northwest Edmonton
- Manage tenant and staff expectations as well as contractor relations
- Oversee impressive maintenance standards in various conference rooms, event rental spaces, business offices, a cafeteria, a library, an auditorium, elevators, and other public spaces
- Direct the successful efforts of ticketed tradespeople, reception staff and caretaking services teams while fostering a culture of learning, positivity and organization
- Anticipate capital projects and other repairs to prepare project estimates, business cases or budget requests and manage within budget accordingly
- Ensure the preventative maintenance program is effective, and ondemand requests are attended to with the least possible disruption to operations
- Ensure continual improvement to and compliance with health and safety standards as per Occupational Health and Safety legislation
- Participate in and potentially lead business improvement initiatives relating to business continuity, policy and procedure development, and safety services including mechanical alarm systems
We want to meet applicants who have:
- Completed education in the field(s) of building systems maintenance, facility management, project management, business administration or property management. Some power engineering certificates may be considered as equivalent.
- 5 or more years of supervisory experience in managing large and diverse teams
- Knowledge of safe environmental cleaning procedures, materials, and methods
- Working knowledge of and/or worksite committee experience with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation and its impact on the operation of public buildings
- Service orientation to promptly attend to staff and guest needs and requests
- Ability to build strong collaborative and interdepartmental relationships
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Building Management System
- The ability to drive occasionally to one lease space in Calgary

- A 35hour work week in person (non hybrid) however
- A minimum of four weeks of paid vacation and extensive holiday days of
