Footprints Security is a 100% locally owned and operated security and guest services provider, proudly serving Vancouver Island since 1980. Footprints Security's is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Director of Operation South Island to join the Victoria BC Team.

Security Experience and Security License Required for this position

General Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the VP of Operations


Oversee and be accountable for the effectiveness of all Security and Mobile department - South Island, ensuring excellence in client service in every interaction with staff and clients.

Works Closely with South Island Scheduler and Vancouver Island recruiter

Able to work in the field as required (boots on the ground)

Plan and execute effective route management for mobile patrol services.

Establish and maintain strong relationships your team.

Support Mobile Patrol and Security Guards in-field training and mentoring.

Establish and maintain strong client relationships.

Participate in business development activities.

Disciplinary actions of your staff as necessary


Provide direct supervision, guidance, and support of regional employees including assisting with recruitment, conducting training, providing corrective and disciplinary support, and ensuring adherence to company policy.

Provide proactive client care, ensuring all issues are resolved in a timely manner.

Monitor all operational and incident reports and take appropriate action.

Ensure that all regional personnel understand site orders and are fulfilling client obligations.

Implement and utilize new technologies across the regional fleet / patrol divisions.

Ensure safety guidelines are followed, investigate safety issues with priority.

Proactively manage team members with a focus on employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention, manage performance of direct reports.

Work effectively with other departments, demonstrating strong administrative skills.

Maintains a solid understanding of employment standards and pay practices, policies, and procedures.

Manage and maintain control over company-owned property, such as uniforms, equipment, and vehicles.


Core Skills, Knowledge & Competencies
Valid BC Security Worker's License

Valid Class 5 Drivers License

Eagerness and ability to learn quickly.

Ability to work with precision and accuracy while demonstrating attention to detail.


Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a manager in an operational environment; supervisory or management experience in the security industry an asset.

Possess sound judgement and decision-making skills, with a 'hands on' approach to problem solving; strong conflict resolution skills required.

Remains calm under pressure and takes control of incidents.

Must have strong leadership, social interaction, and organizational skills; proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.

Possess strong knowledge of security procedures, scheduling, and managing people within a security service environment.

Must work well under strict timelines and possess the ability to manage multiple simultaneous priorities.

Fluent in English.

Strong Communication skills

Competency/Knowledge of MS Office suite especially MS Word and Excel.
