4-10 hours per week

SALARY:


$ $29.46 per hour

plus 12% in lieu of benefits (2024 rates)

Successful applicants will possess the following:

  • Current Emergency First Aid and CPR C Certificate.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience working with children in a community recreation setting.
  • Flexible schedule including some weekend work.
  • Ability to successfully pass and maintain a clear Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Check.

Desired Assets:


  • Community recreation program leadership experience is preferred.
  • Certifications related to program development and implementation.
  • Experience supervising children at off site locations or in a child minding setting.
  • Experience working with children with a variety of support needs.
  • Experience in specialized instructional skill in visual arts or performing arts.
  • Experience in teaching sports, science, or cooking.
  • Courses in recreation or a related field, supplemented by experience in children's programming.

Duties Include:


  • Provide program leadership to children in a safe, positive, fun manner.
  • Plan, lead and implement developmentally appropriate recreation programs for children.
  • Liaise with parents and members of the community.
