Recreation Program Leader:

HOURS OF WORK:

4-10 hours per week

SALARY:

$ $29.46 per hour

plus 12% in lieu of benefits (2024 rates)

Successful applicants will possess the following:

Current Emergency First Aid and CPR C Certificate.
Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
Experience working with children in a community recreation setting.
Flexible schedule including some weekend work.
Ability to successfully pass and maintain a clear Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Check.

Desired Assets:

Community recreation program leadership experience is preferred.
Certifications related to program development and implementation.
Experience supervising children at off site locations or in a child minding setting.
Experience working with children with a variety of support needs.
Experience in specialized instructional skill in visual arts or performing arts.
Experience in teaching sports, science, or cooking.
Courses in recreation or a related field, supplemented by experience in children's programming.

Duties Include:

Provide program leadership to children in a safe, positive, fun manner.
Plan, lead and implement developmentally appropriate recreation programs for children.
Liaise with parents and members of the community.
