Corporate Partnerships Manager

Reporting to the Director, Major Gifts with dotted line reporting to the Director, Global Partnerships, the Corporate Partnership Manager focuses on immediate, as well as, short and long-term opportunities with Canadian-based corporations and private trusts/foundations that fund international development and program funding.

These opportunities can come both from in and outside of Canada.

The Corporate Partnership Manager plays an important role in helping Children Believe (CB) establish long-term corporate partnerships by strengthening existing relationships and initiating new contacts within the corporate and corporate foundation sector.

Responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding funding commitments from corporations and small corporate trusts/foundations both in Canada and across Children Believe offices globally This position builds and manages donor relationships to establish a strong pipeline, increase revenues for the organization and achieve its strategic initiatives.

The Corporate Partnership Manager works closely with our offices outside Canada in Africa, Asia and the Americas to co-create fundraising plans targeting especially multinational corporations and generating new leads.

This role holder will be part of the New Business Development community of practice within CB led by Director, Global Partnerships.


This role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Develop, manage and implement corporate engagement and fundraising initiatives, including identification of potential corporate partnerships/CSR programs, goal setting, engagement strategy and improvements to support infrastructure, processes, systems and build a strong pipeline of grants/donations.
  • Lead corporate/workplace giving outreach and stewardship efforts to include matching gifts and workplace giving programs.
  • Identify key Canadian corporate and trusts/ private foundation prospects, oversee due diligence evaluation to ensure compatibility and develop presence and approach strategies.
  • Negotiate donations; cause marketing campaigns, corporate sponsorship opportunities, consumer donations, workplace giving campaigns, matchingfunds, inservice donations and other resources to benefit Children Believe.
  • Work closely with the Director of Global Partnership and the rest of the Programs & Policy colleagues to create proposals that match the needs of Children Believe to donor objectives for successful solicitation and cultivation.
  • Ensure that all processes and procedures relative to corporate partnerships are compliant with external regulations and directives, as well as, CB's Corporate Engagement policy, legal and risk management, due diligence and directives.
  • In collaboration with CB offices around the world & DGP, identify immediate as well as short and long term opportunities with global corporations especially with Canadian trusts/ foundations, multinational corporations /employee engagement programs, and
  • Create compelling corporate engagement offers and winning pitch materials.
  • Create and attend networking opportunities that will grow and deepen Children Believe's relationships with prospective corporate stakeholders, influencers and government funding agencies.
  • Provide the highest standards of excellence in relationship management to corporate partners.
  • Postsecondary diploma/degree in Business or other relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in corporate engagement, fundraising, business development in the notforprofit sector or similar sales experience in a customerfocused organization or business.
  • Good understanding of the Canadian corporate landscape.
  • Proven track record in building corporate engagement programs, meeting or exceeding revenue targets, donor/client management and revenue pipeline development. These include CSR, sponsorship and employee engagement programs. Experience of setting up and running Cause Marketing programs will be considered an asset.
  • Understanding of the charity and/or international development sector preferred.
  • Experience from engaging and working with global organizations and companies abroad is an asset.
  • Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation is valued.
  • Demonstrated experience in finding new corporate
