Working under the supervision of the Foreman, the Labourer will assist the Civil Team with the installation of telecommunications infrastructure (buried cable, wire or ducts) for various projects.


Responsibilities

  • Digging holes and trenches
  • Pulling cable
  • Operating equipment and tools
  • Provide assistance with general site preparation and cleanup as directed
  • Handle and distribute construction materials, as well as safely loading and unloading vehicles with supplies and equipment as directed
  • Able to run gas and power equipment (i.e. saws, drills, jumping jacks)
  • Able to assess work environment for potential health and safety hazards
  • Removal of all debris from work sites
  • Assist with traffic control as directed
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or relevant experience
- + 6 months of related experience in the construction industry

  • Good verbal communication skills and able to work with others
  • Must be able to safely lift 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English
  • Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable health and safety training as per legislative and job requirements
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Must be able to work in restricted and tight spaces and at heights
  • Must have a valid G Driver's License or equivalent with a clean driver's abstract
  • Must be able to provide a clear criminal record check

Salary:
$20.40-$26.40 per hour
