SUMMARY


The Maintenance department oversees the maintenance and certification of all fixed and mobile equipment, shop electrical, small tool repair, rigging devices and building maintenance.

Maintenance is charged with the development of regular preventative maintenance schedules and the record keeping associated with maintenance and calibrations as applicable.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures training and enforcement of safety programs governing activities with respect to any other shop's use of all equipment for which record and/or calibrations are kept.
  • Ensures the maintenance and documentation of all shop equipment as required.
  • Manages subcontractors for various functions as required including gathering quotations and ensuring personnel working on site receive proper safety indoctrinations.
  • Ensures the lock out / tag out system is utilized as required for any equipment maintenance internally and by subcontractors.
  • Assists the Shop Supervisors to ensure the maintenance and documentation of all fixed and mobile equipment is performed in a manner which supports all shop fabrications.
  • Reviews and ensures daily, weekly, monthly and annual equipment maintenance and checks are performed and documented by the responsible parties.
  • Perform additional assignments as per the Production manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supervises all subordinate or subcontracted employees performing maintenance activities.
  • Reviews and updates training requirements for Maintenance and subcontract employees.
  • Performs evaluations and disciplinary corrective actions as required.
  • Responds to and acts on Safety Inspection recommendations and corrective actions as required.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
The position(s) requires training in at least one of; Electrical, Mechanics or related trade(s). Essential qualifications includes a sound knowledge base in drawing and schematics interpretation.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma.
  • Training or Trade Certification in a related discipline or combination of disciplines.
  • 10 years of experience including Maintenance roles.

SKILLS REQUIRED AND/OR DEVELOPED

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and documents such as schematics, standards and specifications, and other documents related to maintenance requirements.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to clients, subcontractors, and production team members.
  • Ability to sketch basic images as a part of instruction to others.
  • Ability to manage issues requiring problem resolution or conflict management.
  • Ability to interpret and understand a variety of instructions in written, oral, technical drawing or schedule form.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills needed, especially in Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to provide basic estimation of maintenance time and costs required for various tasks.
  • Ability to think and react quickly in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Ability to multitask and remain highly organized.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Manual dexterity, sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent climbing stairs / ladders, bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, reaching, and crouching.
  • Occasional work on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures.
  • Visual acuity to read printed and electronic documents.
  • Hearing capacity to receive, perceive, and react to common construction environment auditory stimuli.
  • Lifting and / or exerting of force up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds of lifting / force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of lifting / force constantly to move objects.
  • Frequent operation of mobile equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The working environment is heavy industrial.
  • Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments with frequent exposure to noise, dust, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, moving objects, sharp edges, and all types of weather and temperature conditions.
  • Wearing and use of proper personal protective equipment is required.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Pay:
$27.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
