Description

PAYROLL DUTIES

  • Prepare weekly payroll for ~70 employees
  • Prepare and submit RRSP and DPSP remittances
  • Prepare T4's and T4 summary
  • Correct taxable life insurance benefit amounts and enter pension adjustment on T4's
  • Prepare and submit WSIB and EHT year end reconciliation

MANAGERIAL DUTIES

  • Work with departmental management and company vice president to prepare costing and hours estimation reports
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders

AP /AR DUTIES

  • Oversee Accounts Payable functions
  • Examine and verify accuracy of work and authorize routine payments, credits and other transactions
  • Enter, verify and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, cheque requisitions, and bank statements
  • Review chequing account activity, maintaining cleared/ outstanding cheque list and transfer funds between accounts as required
  • Prepare bank deposits as required and take to the bank for depositing
  • Prepare and remit source deductions at the bank.
  • Prepare and remit HST, EHT, WSIB, property and corporation taxes
  • Prepare, print, sign and stamp statutory declarations when required by customers

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Prepare Holdback Invoices, Letters of Warranty and Statutory Declarations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Professional accounting designation in good standing is required.
  • Experience with Jonas preferred.
  • Proven work experience in accounting/payroll required.
  • Previous experience within construction/ manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, organize and prioritize.

Salary:
$83,800.00-$90,300.00 per year
