POSITION PURPOSE
Solicit group SMERF/Other Group business that enables the hotel to meet and/or exceed revenue goals in rooms and food and beverage.
Works with customers to align customer preferences with hotel's need periods and actively up-sells each business opportunity to maximize revenues and drive customer loyalty.
Verifies that business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for quality service delivery. Drives customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.Essential Functions:
- Prospect and solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.
- Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance. Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.
- Participate in daily RevMax meeting, preconvention meetings, training and other salesrelated meetings as required.
- Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers.
- Attend appropriate trade shows, industry meetings and community events to source potential leads and network in the industry.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
- Professionally represent the hotel at all industry/community functions
- Participate as a team player with all departments
- Travel and participate in specific industry trade shows and Sales Conferences
- Assist with reports and/or competition data collection
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must possess basic computational ability.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.
Experience
- Minimum of two years' Hotel Sales experience in a similar size operation.
Licenses or Certificates
- Must have a valid driver's license and valid passport in order to travel
- Mandatory vaccination policy for COVID19.
