ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Manager of Information Technology will have an overall responsibility for the management and oversight of OSBIE's IT requirements.

This position requires partnering with the various OSBIE departments and IT staff to resolve issues, and determine the evolving systems and technology needs for the organization as well as supporting and enhancing existing systems.

This role supports the IT needs of OSBIE's two offices with 24 hybrid staff.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Management of OSBIE's Infrastructure and Systems

  • Responsible for managing OSBIE's systems and technology infrastructure including the network, servers, data backup, and disaster/incident recovery.
  • Ensure IT risks are mitigated by identifying root causes of service interruptions and implement longstanding solutions
  • Collaborate with the various departments to ensure that all IT hardware and software are compliant with OSBIE policies and practices
  • Responsible for planning, ordering, installing, monitoring, and reviewing contracted work by outside agencies.
  • Assess OSBIE's evolving IT hardware, software needs
  • Manage procurement of new equipment and software and oversee the retirement of redundant equipment and systems
  • Project manage improvements to third party software (Figtree, DMS)
  • Liaise with OSBIE's website host to ensure functionality and compatibility with client platforms
  • Develop processes that ensure traceability, accountability, and timely communication with stakeholders
  • Develop, document, and implement technical support operating procedures

Client Cyber Security Support

  • Assess, provide guidance and where applicable provide solutions to OSBIE's Cyber insurance clients on how to best manage the cybersecurity risks
  • Develop, present, and attend client meetings as required
  • Understand client business drivers, opportunities, and goals; work to support them

Client/User Support

  • Provide support service for platforms and related technologies throughout the organization and across two offices
  • Ensure incidents and service requests are resolved in a timely manner
  • Ensure OSBIE clients and staff receive efficient and timely IT support
  • Collaborate with OSBIE staff to determine specific user requirements
  • Provide technical expertise, and support for OSBIE's audio visual requirements

Leading Your IT Team

  • Supervise staff reporting to the position.
  • Lead by example and maintain a collaborative and positive work environment
  • Manage quality of work by setting clear expectations and providing ongoing feedback
  • Cross train department staff to ensure continuity of service to the organization
  • Research and advise on software and hardware used in the insurance industry
  • Remain current on recent IT and cyber security trends
  • Collaborate with management to develop a strategic plan for OSBIE's short and long term IT needs
  • Accountable for the financial aspects of the IT function including the development of the annual IT operating budget
  • Deliver industry and technical expertise in information security through client interactions, management presentations, and staff training sessions
  • Enforce the governance, security, integrity, and availability of systems, technology, and data.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • Minimum five years of experience in IT including information systems and network management
  • Minimum three years of progressive leadership experience including supervision of staff
  • Process and detail oriented with strong project management, analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments at any given time
  • Diverse knowledge of software systems, server architectures, compatibility requirements, computer hardware, and information security with awareness of capabilities/limitations of various configurations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft environment
  • Proficient in verbal and written communications to effectively address audiences of a wide range of levels of IT knowledge and under
