Background


The British Columbia Non-Profit Housing Association (BCNPHA) is the umbrella association for non-profit housing providers in BC providing services, education, events, and advocacy to over 500 non-profit housing societies who provide more than 70,000 units of affordable housing at more than 2,000 sites across the province.


Position Summary


BCNPHA offers a variety of programs and services to non-profit housing providers to support and strengthen the capacity of the sector.

From group insurance and preferential rates on telecom services to access to financial services and capital planning, BCNPHA develops solutions to save members money and support their operations.

As a result of the incumbent's promotion, BCNPHA is recruiting a new Business Development and Engagement Manager.

Reporting to the Director of Member Services and Partnerships, this position is responsible for growing and developing sponsorships, marketing, membership, programs, and event revenue streams by nurturing corporate partnerships, expanding program participation, and advancing member engagement.

In supervision of and together with the Event Producer and Analytical Marketing & Membership Specialist, this team fulfills marketing, events, and member engagement.

BCNPHA currently operates with a hybrid model.


Key Responsibilities

Sponsorships

  • Secure new corporate partners that support key organizational priorities
  • Deepen relationships with current corporate partners to secure all lines of potential revenue
  • Develop and implement a sponsorship sales plan for increasing revenues in a costeffective manner
  • Assist in targetsetting
  • Deliver on annual targets and achieve revenue goals
  • Responsible for sponsor prospecting, proposal customization and presentation, contract revision and servicing, sponsor followup and support

Programs

  • Lead the development of new missionaligned revenue generating programs that support member capacity
  • Creation Programs with revenue share structure
  • Calibrate current programs to grow member utilization
  • Develop relational marketing strategies to grow multiprogram member participation
  • Procurement Experience such as; creating and managing RFPs and Contracts
  • Assess program performance and aim to maximize returnoninvestment

Talent Management

  • Oversee events and manage the Events Producer to ensure the successful planning and execution of events, including the regional and annual conferences
  • Oversee marketing and memberships and manage the Analytical Marketing & Membership Specialist to ensure the successful planning and execution of membership campaigns, impactful program marketing, and target events sales
  • Provide clear direction on business metrics and priorities; ensure optimal deployment of resources to achieve business goals
  • Establish performance objectives and review on an ongoing basis; provide coaching and feedback as per the performance management process.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Substantial experience in building and developing relationships, and always keeping an eye on the big picture
  • Thorough experience with managing relationships and engagement;
  • A demonstrable track record of business and/or program development;
  • A demonstrated ability to develop and execute business and marketing strategies for the purpose of increasing revenue and impact;
  • Advanced knowledge of business analytics and datadriven decisionmaking processes.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Business administration or related field
  • Communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Business Intelligence skills
