Fred Victor is currently looking for a strong Payroll Manager to join their finance function. The
Payroll Manager is an
integral part of the Finance team and the Fred Victor Leadership team. This position will work with the VP Finance &
Technology to provide oversight and control of the payroll and analysis of people costs in the organization (about 60% of
operating expenses) including the development of a financial and strategic scorecard/dashboard. The Manager leads the
continuous improvement of the Payroll operations, leading initiatives to improve and maintain existing processes,
policies, models, systems and reporting tools. This position will also support monthly reporting and analysis needs,
preparing providing regular as well as ad hoc reporting and analysis focused on staff as well as other projects as
assigned.

**What You Will Do (Position Summary)

  • Lead in the delivery of the biweekly payroll ensuring all qualifies employees are paid in a timely, accurate fashion.
  • Assist Director of Finance to develop systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g. salaries, benefits, garnishments,
deductions, taxes and third-party payments)

  • Monitoring and support for ADP Workforce / Rippling payroll system on an ongoing basis, proactively identifying and
resolving issues as they occur.

  • Assist Director of Finance on preparation of various management reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis utilizing
ADP/ Rippling, accounting system and other internal systems.

  • Provides support to the Finance team on reconciliation of ADP to GL and maintain clean record.
  • Monitoring and analyzing payroll and benefits expenses against budget to help prepare cost forecasts and budgets
  • Working with Director of Finance to ensure the benefits and payroll services are delivered at best practice standards
  • Partner/ Collaborate with HR to develop and implement an HRIS and payroll new system project.**
  • Assist Director of finance to Lead the enhancement of ADP Workforce Now payroll system, including upgrades, new modules,
data conversion, testing and launch phases.

  • Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits
  • Lead payroll special projects to improve existing processes, policies, models, systems and reporting, using a quality
improvement framework.

  • Supervise Payroll specialist and Coordinators Team, working collaboratively to improve payroll processes and Oversee
processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises).

**What You Bring to the Team (Qualifications): - Payroll designation (PCP or CPM) or similar designation required. Post-secondary education in finance and accounting and

in progress with CPA would also be an asset.

  • A minimum of 3 years work experience in managing payroll. Experience in the notforprofit sector would be an asset
  • Very strong problemsolving and criticalthinking skills; able to identify issues, propose viable solutions, and implement
appropriate changes

  • Demonstrated experience with quality improvement and change management in a finance setting
  • Advance usage of ADP system and payroll analysis report writing experience
  • Experience managing complex payroll systems
  • Proficiency/advanced in Excel and Microsoft Office required. Sage would be an asset
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, with a high customer service focus
  • High energy team player, with a positive cando attitude, flexible and adaptable to ch
